Looking to have some fun on the water this season?

Peconic Water Sports of Greenport is officially open for business, offering everything from tubing and wakeboarding to a new twist known as wake surfing – surfing the wake off the back of a boat.

The water sports company, founded in 2011, is the only of its kind on the North Fork. It offers instruction on a number of sports, and can pick up riders at North Fork, South Fork and Shelter Island locations.

Riders learn on a top of the line Malibu wakeboarding boat, designed especially for water sports. Equipment sponsors include Pro-Line, Liquid Force, and Connelly, provide the company with new gear every year.

Peconic Water Sports also offers week long kids camps called RIDE, where kids ages 7 to 15 of any skill level can spend a week on the water learning a number of different watersports.

The company’s owner Joey Flotteron grew up wakeboarding East End waters. He spent the last six years working for Global Boarding on the South Shore, before deciding to start his own company.
